Residential Rental Properties & Holiday Accommodation

Central Tasmania

Central Tasmania attracted settlers due to its wonderful luscious landscape and agricultural quality. The main industries in the area include beef cattle, timber milling and wool. There are several pretty historic towns that you can visit on your journey through central Tasmania, heading along the Midland Highway (also known as the Heritage Highway) from Hobart to Launceston.

Heading north from Hobart the first two places that you will reach include Bothwell and Oatlands. Bothwell is situated in the Clyde River Valley and offers great trout fishing, golf and some fantastic and around 53 very attractive buildings. The Oatlands also hosts some marvellous historic buildings, with the oldest one being the 1829 courthouse. There are around 87 buildings, many of which built in the attractive Georgian style.

On this site you can find available residential homes for rent or any kind of rental property, such as apartments, houses, fully furnished or unfurnished units, rooms, villas, townhouses, commercial for lease, holiday and share accommodation, short and long term rentals, flat, studio, private leases, pet friendly rentals and granny flats. Further north from Oatlands you will pass through Ross and Campbell Town. Ross is famous for its bridge, which is the 3rd oldest in Australia. There are also several historic buildings in the area, as well as a Wool Museum and the rather unique crossroads. From the crossroads you can head to the old jail for Damnation, the town hall for Recreation, The Catholic Church for Salvation and the Man O’ Ross Hotel for Temptation. Campbell Town also hosts some fine architectural buildings, and is the gateway to Lake Leake which offers fishing and bushwalking, and then further on to Swansea along the east coast.

West of these pretty towns is the beautiful Lake Country, which offers fantastic scenery and is home to the Walls of Jerusalem National Park. Transport around this area is good, with a service between Hobart and Launceston which stops at the various towns along the way (except if it is an express service, which travels straight through without stopping).

Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, holds two records. One as the Southernmost capital city in Australia the other as the 2nd oldest capital city. The city offers both history in its Georgian buildings and harbour, and modern elements. It is surrounded by Derwent River and Mt. Wellington.
