Property Ads - General

Do I need to register?

If you are looking for a home for rent, house, apartment, townhouse, unit, or flat no registration is needed. There is no fee either. Just click the "Search Rentals" button and start searching. If you are placing a property, you will need to register to place your ad. There is a fee that can be paid via Cheque or Direct Deposit.

Is it possible to change the "date available" date to something much more current or to available now?

Of course, you can change the the date when your property is available at any time. In the members area click on the "View your properties", choose the property you would like to modify and click on the "Detail" button. Next to the "Date Available" field change the date by using the "Use Calendar" button or simply click on the "Clear Date" button to make your property "available now".

Session File Error

A session is created each time you log in. If you leave without logging off, then when you return you may get a session file error. Whenever you log in, when you are ready to leave, please click the "Log Out" link at the righ side of of a page.

How can I have my ad posted in two property type categories?

You will need two ads to be in two property type categories to do that.

 

Ads - Photos

How Do I Add Photos?

Click on the "Browse" button and locate your image from your computer - please ensure they are in the correct format (JPG format - max 600 pixel wide by 450 pixel high, less than 150Kb in file size). Double click on the photo and repeat the process for extra photos - a total limit of 5 images can be uploaded.

How Do I Add Photos Once Ad Has Been Placed?

Once the ad has been placed, to add photos do the following: in the members area click on the "View your properties", choose the property you would like to add photos and click on the "Detail" button. Click the button "Browse" and locate your image from your computer. Repeat process for extra photos and click the "Update" button. Adding photographs to your ad will greatly increase the response the ad gets.

If you use a digital camera you might want to reduce its default image size

Many newer digital cameras take pictures with a resolution of 1600 by 1200 pixels or more (1600 by 1200 pixels is a "2 megapixel" camera).

To ensure images are viewable on a wide range of systems Oz Rentals images are resized to 640 by 480 pixels (or 0.3 megapixel equivalent).

The upload limit is 150000 bytes per image (150KB), however, images of around 40KB are of sufficient quality for Internet viewing.

 

Rental Ads - How to Modify or Delete

How do I change my ad?

You can easily modify or delete your ad at any time. In the members area click on the "View your properties", choose the property you would like to modify and click on the "Detail" button. Scroll down the page, then make the changes to the information on your ad. When finished, scroll down a little further and click the button "Update". That's it.

How do I delete my ad?

First of all, we recommend not deleting your rental ad until you have signed a lease. You can modify your ad and make it inactive while "Pending Lease Signing". Once you delete your ad, there is no way to get it back, so make sure before you delete it. To delete an ad, just go to the members area, click on the "View your properties", choose the rental property you would like to delete, tick it on the left side of the table ad click "Delete" button. Please note that rather than delete your ad, you may modify your ad at any time so as to advertise another property if you have one available.
